Bio

Out of the ashes of the much beloved Skeleton Key comes the stripped down honking of Knife Thrower. Knife Thrower makes music that is slightly unwieldy, odd and crudely sophisticated, like throwing a knife.

Founded by former Skeleton Key frontman Erik Sanko, Knife Thrower draws on his past experiences with James Chance and the Contortions, John Cale, The Lounge Lizards, and Yoko Ono and sounds like the illegitimate offspring of Tom Waits and Phillip Glass.

David Yow of the Jesus Lizard on Knife Thrower: I’m relaxing in my basement when this giant two-headed saxophone with one leg busts through the wall like that f*cking kids drink mascot. Terrified is cute compared to what I was, but to my astonishment, I kinda fell for this sumb*tch hook, line and sinker.
