Berke Can Özcan & Jonah Parzen-Johnson
In April 2022, Brooklyn based baritone saxophonist, Jonah Parzen-Johnson, found himself on a flight to Istanbul to play a one-off duo concert with drummer at the center of Istanbul’s vibrant music scene, Berke Can Özcan. They met for the first time 30 minutes before soundcheck. The concert that followed could have been the culmination of years of collaboration. Their musical partnership is instantly solid, innocent and joyful.

Jonah Parzen-Johnson
Jonah makes music with baritone saxophone & electronic instruments that challenges listeners with experimental textures while embracing them with warm approachable melodies. His solo performances are a deeply intimate experience, as he endeavors to share who he is, how he sees our world, and the temporary moments of community that we can all embrace together.

Knife Thrower
Founded by former Skeleton Key frontman Erik Sanko, Knife Thrower makes music that is slightly unwieldy, odd and crudely sophisticated, like throwing a knife. Knife Thrower draws on his past experiences with James Chance and the Contortions, John Cale, The Lounge Lizards, and Yoko Ono and sounds like the illegitimate offspring of Tom Waits and Phillip Glass.

Lau Nau & Jonah Parzen-Johnson
Strangers is a duo featuring Finnish sound artist, Lau Nau, and Brooklyn baritone saxophonist & composer Jonah Parzen-Johnson in which the two perform a subtle and highly interactive collection of narrative scores. Each score uses a micro interaction with a stranger to explore moments of temporary connection, frustration, confusion, and admiration through texture, space, and melody.
